About Sandbach Clear Ears

Hello and a warm welcome to Sandbach Clear Ears! My name is Christine, and I’m delighted to be the owner of this local service in Sandbach. I specialise in safe, gentle, and effective ear wax removal, ensuring your comfort and well-being every step of the way. Whether we choose microsuction or irrigation during your consultation, my goal is to make the experience as relaxed and professional as possible.
With training from UK Microsuction, recognised leaders in ear care, I bring a high level of expertise to every procedure. I started Sandbach Clear Ears after noticing how difficult it can be for people in our community to access ear wax removal services, especially since many GP practices aren’t able to provide them without a clinical need.
At Sandbach Clear Ears, we’re committed to making ear care easy and stress-free. With a straightforward online booking system, flexible weekend appointments, and an emergency out-of-hours option, we’re here when you need us. If you require urgent assistance, don’t hesitate to give us a call directly - I’m here to help.

What is ear wax, and why do we have it?Ear wax, also known as cerumen, is a natural defense mechanism produced by glands in your ear canal. It traps dirt, dust, and bacteria, helping to keep your ears clean and protected. Additionally, it prevents dryness by maintaining moisture in the ear canal. At Sandbach Clear Ears, we recognise the vital role ear wax plays in maintaining ear health. If you suspect issues with wax build-up or discomfort, we can provide a thorough assessment, expert advice, and effective treatment.
-
Is ear wax removal always necessary? Not always! For most people, ear wax naturally exits the ear without intervention. However, a build-up (impaction) may cause discomfort, hearing loss, or infections, and professional removal may be required. At Sandbach Clear Ears we offer safe and effective removal methods to address problematic wax build-up, restoring comfort and hearing.
-
Can ear wax colour indicate health issues?Yes, ear wax color can sometimes indicate health issues. Yellow or light brown wax is typically normal, while dark, flaky, or greenish wax could suggest possible infections. Blood-tinged wax may point to minor injuries. At Sandbach Clear Ears, our consultations include a detailed examination of your ear canals using a video otoscope. This allows us to identify any concerns and explain our findings. If treatment is needed, we will provide expert recommendations tailored to your needs.
-
What are the safest methods for ear wax removal?Microsuction and irrigation are two of the safest and most effective techniques for ear wax removal. Our procedures are painless and carried out with the utmost care in a professional and comfortable environment.

Does ear wax removal hurt? When performed correctly, ear wax removal is a gentle and comfortable procedure. You may feel some slight pressure, but it should not be painful. At Sandbach Clear Ears, our specialists prioritise your comfort. We take the time to explain every step of the process, ensuring a calm and stress-free experience.
-
How often should I have ear wax removed? It depends on your ear health and lifestyle. Some clients may need removal every 6–12 months, while others may rarely require it. At Sandbach Clear Ears we provide personalised advice based on your specific needs and recommend a schedule for maintaining healthy ears.
